KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) welcomes the formation of Gabungan Bersatu Sabah (GBS) consisting of mainly ex-BN parties and Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) which is also a fellow member in Gabungan Sabah, said its Secretary-General, Datuk Richard Yong We Kong
“Gabungan Sabah Central Council has already discussed the formation of GBS and we shall keep an open mind about co-operation with GBS and other Sabah local parties and leaders to fight for Sabah rights which we have been consistently committed to for the last 10 years outside the then BN coalition government,” he said here
He added that as PBS has explicitly stated that GBS is only for parties with YBs, the question of whether SAPP should join GBS or not does not arise.
Gabungan Sabah now consist of four local political parties, STAR, SAPP, PPRS (Parti Perpaduan Rakyat Sabah) and PKS (Parti Kebangsaan Sabah).
Earlier today, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan as the interim chairman of GBS announced that the alliance had officially been formed.-SabahNewsToday
