KOTA KINABALU: A total of RM8,000 in cash prize awaits winners of the Kota Kinabalu Film & Video Association (KKFVA) Golden Wind Award this Thursday.
Describing the event as “more than just an award presentation night”, its organising chairman Dicky Loh said it is also a gathering of top local filmmakers.
“Sabah is rich with great talents, be it in music or filmmaking. And this coming event is a like a one stop centre for all these talented people to get together and exchange creative views,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew will be the event’s guest-of-honour of the 2nd KKFVA Short Film Award Presentation to be held at the City Cineplex City Mall on Mar 14, at 7pm.
Loh added that among the highlights of the event is the special performance of Sabah’s new alternative pop duo, who call themselves the Avery Fos, and for the first time, this year’s winning short film will also be showcased to guests.
Meanwhile, prior to the event, the organising committee paid courtesy calls to their advisors and sponsors.-SabahNewsToday
