KOTA KINABALU: The Raleigh Sabah Society (RSS) and Raleigh International Kuala Lumpur (RIKL) will join forces to deliver collaborative volunteer project across Malaysia after Raleigh Borneo Expeditions close in October 2018.
Raleigh Malaysia, made up of the RSS and RIKL have pledged to join forces and undertake a series of collaborative expeditions across both east and west Malaysia with the first taking place in the new year.
The projects are aimed at bringing lasting change to the communities and natural environments of Malaysia.
RSS Secretary, Nor Hafidzah Abin said, they looked forward to collaborating with their Raleigh relatives in Kuala Lumpur and the Maliau Basin project will be their first collaboration together under one name as Raleigh Malaysia.
“We will work hard as possible to make this project a success,” she added in a statement.
Meanwhile, her counterpart from RIKL, Ho Chung Shin states, that this new journey is just beginning for the national societies and Raleigh alumni.
“We are excited for the future and a closer collaboration between us and the Raleigh Sabah Society. We are collaborating to achieve one goal, that is to empower young people in Malaysia to create long lasting positive change for the community and environment,” he said.
Over the past year, Raleigh International has been working closely with RSS and RIKL that make up Raleigh Malaysia to support them in continuing lasting change and contributing towards the sustainable Development Goals. – SabahNewsToday
