Politeknik Kota Kinabalu Director Zainab Othman said a total of 70 researchers from institutions of higher learning and related industries both local and international would be presenting their papers during the two-day conference.

She said the conference aimed to inculcate research and innovation practice among academics from a wide range of multi-disciplinary backgrounds covering topics relating to business and management, education, engineering and technology, hospitality and tourism and wood-based technology.

“This conference also aims to bring together academics from Malaysia’s public and private higher institutions, as well as our academic partners from Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam,” she said in a statement today.

She added four prominent figures are expected to grace the event as keynote speakers in their respective field.

“Sabah’s  SEDIA Chief Executive Officer Datuk Dr Mohd Yaakub Johari and  Kota Kinabalu’s Consul General of Republic Indonesia, Drs Krishna Djelani are amongst them.

“Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry Azhar Matussin will officiate the event on Oct 4 at Jabatan Kebudayaan and Kesenian Negara (JKKN), Sabah.
