PUTATAN: Sabah Ministry of Youth and Sports urged the young generation to register and get involved with youth organizations as a sign of support for the national development policies and programmes implemented in the state.
“The ministry will continue to support these programmes which can fulfil the aspiration and needs of the youths,” said its Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan.
He added that his ministry will provide a grant of RM1,000 each as a starter for newly set up organizations and another RM5,000 grant annually for those that remain active.
Tawfiq was speaking during officiating the two-day Youth Got Talent programme that was held since yesterday as a platform for youths in Sabah to show their hidden talents.
“Youths are an important asset that must be developed in term of skills and expertise so that they can contribute to the development of the country, especially in Sabah,” he explained.
The programme also held a fashion show with the concept of mixed street and formal wear for working youths, and an innovation exhibition. –SayangSabah.-Sayangsabah
