KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Youth Consultation Council (MPBNS) need to plan its Future Aspiration Programme based on the 12 domains in measuring the youths’ quality of life in Sabah.
Besides from honing the youths’ talents in various professions, the move is also to improve the leadership quality of Y Generation, in finding new ideas for the benefit of the public.
In fact, youths development is a duty which needs the cooperation of all sides, in ensuring the programmes held for them will give the desired impact.
Sabah Minister of Youth and Sports, Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan, stressed that it is important to step up the efforts to understand the young generation’s aspiration especially in the grassroot level, as well as the urban youths, to gain their support for the state’s development process.
“I want to invite all strategic partners especially MBS and its 13 Combine Members to help in the planning, creating cooperation and smart partnership, as well as in collaboration to exceed our target of more than 50 percent (300,000) from the 590,000 youths population who are between 15 to 30 years old, for their involvement,” he said for the Sabah Youth Consultation Council Conference (MBPNS), here today.
Also present were his deputy, Datuk Masiung Banah, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Youth and Sports Sabah, Datuk Suzannah Liaw, and MBS President, Nourman Ryan Awang Zaini.
He also said the responsibility to mould the youths’ aspiration and identity need to be prioritized as it is in the government’s interest to preserve positive values among the youths from diverse communities in Sabah.
“If these efforts continue, the public as well as youths from grassroot level will understand the government’s intention, and supports the state progress and carry the transformation agenda for youth development,” he said. – SayangSabah
