KOTA KINABALU – Sabah’s door is always open to those who respected the prevailing unity, peace and harmony in the state said the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Masidi Manjun in a statement today.
Masidi however stressed that Sabah did not welcome those who were bent on inciting hatred and disunity to the people.
“If your presence here is to cause disturbance and a threat the peace and harmony we have enjoyed all this while, you are not welcomed here,” he said in respond to the action taken by the Immigration Department to bar Seputeh MP Teresa Kok from entering the state. Kok was not allowed to enter upon her arrival in Sandakan on Wednesday.
He stated that the opposition used dirty political tactics and propaganda of lies and deceit to mislead the people in an attempt to garner their support.
“They go to the rural areas to hoodwink the people and incite hatred against the government anan cause disunity among the different races. This is dangerous and we don’t want this in Sabah,” he said.
Masidi said Sabah was the epitome of racial and religious harmony and tolerance in Malaysia despite political differences.
“It is our strength and we won’t allow anyone to change this. It’s the duty of the state govt to ensure outsiders do not have the opportunity to preach hatred and divisiveness among the multi ethnic and multi religious Sabahans,” he said. – SayangSabah
