PUTATAN: The young generation need to preserve the harmony, peace, and progress which the country has achieved since independence.
Sabah Minister of Youth and Sports, Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan, said the effort is important in ensuring what the past leaders have fought for the wellbeing of the country, remains intact.
“Only with peace and harmony will the people regardless of identity are able to make Malaysia a progressive country,” he said.
Tawfiq was giving his speech for the opening ceremony for ‘Gerak kerja Warisan Generasi Y’ workshop by Association of Former Members of KEMAS Malaysia (PKAM) at Platinum Hotel, here today.
Touching on the workshop, he said the programme needs to be supported by all parties as it is to give exposure to the Y generation about past nationalists.
“The workshop needs to continue in the future and supported by everyone,” he said.
The speakers for the workshop will be from among KEMAS former members, with 80 participants across the state joining the three-day workship which begins on 27 march until 29 March. – SayangSabah
