TELUPID: Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee has advised the people to weed out the chaff from the information they receive over the social media.
He said some irresponsible people took advantage of the social media to spread false information.
“The public must be wise enough to filter the information and determine whether it comes from a reliable source before arriving at any conclusion,” he told Bernama after opening a 1Malaysia futsal court in Kampung Buis near here today.
The MP for Beluran said it was the current trend among the people to choose to read unverified or false information.
What was disturbing was that the circulated information could undermine unity and harmony of the people as well as public order and security, he said.
“More worrying is that young people are exposed to the unverified information, which can poison the minds of the future generation,” he said.- BERNAMA
