SIPITANG: Mosques and community halls are for healthy activities that benefits the local communities, and should not be used to create division and quarrels among the Muslim community.
“Do not make mosques or community halls as a platform to create divisions or quarrels. This matter must be monitored by leaders in the village level,” said Sipitang MP, Datuk Sapawi Ahmad, during the Ramadan Visit programme with Kg. Tanah Merah villagers.
Also present were Sipitang District Officer, Lattip Amat, Sabah Foundation South Interior Manager, Zulkhairi Ismail, Sindumin Community Development Officer, Abdul Rahman Mohd. Noh, and the state UMNO Youth chief, Yamani Hafez Musa.
According to him, mosques and community halls are for the villagers to congregate and discuss important issues.
In the event, Sapawi also announced the upgrade works for the mosque at Kg. Tanah Merah, Melaman, to facilitate the needs and comfort of the Muslim community in performing their prayers.
“We will upgrade the village’s mosque and community hall because we understand and listen to the villagers’ needs,” he said. – SayangSabah
