Unity, culture sharing not limited to festive season

KOTA KINABALU: Culture-sharing and cooperation practice between various communities should be incorporate into everyday life and not to be limited for festive season.

Sabah Foundation Group Director, Datuk Sapawi Ahmad, said it is important to ensure peace and stability in the state to remain strong and for is people to enjoy harmony.

“The uniqueness in Sabah is that harmony between various ethnics who live together share everything, especially cultures and this is why we can see everyone come together to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” he said during the sabah Fondation Raya celebration.

Sapawi said the practice to hold open houses has open the opportunity to strengthen unity among the public.

However, he stressed that while open house programme is a platform to build stronger ties it should not lead to wastage.

Touching on the event, he said the Raya celebration was held together with the MBJ workers representative election ceremony in order to prevent unnecessary spending by cutting costs.

“Such two-in-one programme also open the opportunity for employees outside the district to celebrate Aidilfitri together with the headquarters staffs and it helps in making the even more lively,” he said.

Sapawi also hope that the organization’s employees will continue to push forward to gain greater achievements with better understanding and cooperation solidified in the event, subsequently making Sabah Foundation a renowned organization through high commitment and teamwork. – SayangSabah
