TENOM: Tenom MP, Datuk Raime Unggi, reminds new cooperative members and those who want to set up new cooperative organization to learn more about the role of the industry.
He said the lack of knowledge especially among board members will cause the organization to lie dormant and lose members, subsequently leading towards failure.
With good management based on legal laws, cooperative can improve the quality of life of its members and the community.
He was speaking during officiating the Tenom P.181 level Parliament with Cooperative Programme at the district sports complex hall on Saturday.
He also said the Malaysian Co-operative Commission (SKM) can give useful advices and monitor the progress of cooperatives as an autonomous socioeconomic body and it is up to the organization’s board committees and members to ensure their success. –SayangSabah
