KOTA KINABALU: Seminar and courses organized by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Niosh) Sabah has attracted about 5,000 participants for its prgoramme.
Sabah and Labuan FT Niosh Chairman, Mohd Husin Abdul Salam, said since the setting up of the agency they have launched 415 seminars and courses in the state.
He said Niosh Sabah is expecting to attract more participants in their seminar that will be launched with the opening of the agency’s new office at Harbour City, Jalan Coastal Kota Kinabalu which will begin its operation in 1 September.
“We are optimist that the mechanism will be achieved when our new office starts its operation next month. The symbolic opening ceremony is expected to be done by Niosh Chairman, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye,” he said during the Sabah Niosh 2015 Aidilfitri Raya event.
Mohd Husin also express his confidence for more participation from industrial companies in the state for its future seminars and courses.
Niosh Sabah, he said, also offers the service to facilitate stimulation course programme for Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan districts, which has been begun this year.
He explained that the service is introduced for the first time in Sabah since there are many complaints from the industrial sector on the lack of knowledge on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Niosh personnel will visit industrial sites who requires their assistance to provide the service, he added. – SayangSabah
