KOTA KINABALU: UMS has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for Hemodialysis Centre Collaboration with the National Welfare Foundation (YKN) during a ceremony held at the university’s Chancellory Building, this afternoon.
UMS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Harun Abdullah, said the collaboration is to offer hemodialysis service to kidney patients.
“It is my hope that the hemodialysis centre which will be open in February at Kingfisher Plaza with 10 hemodialysis units can help patients who sorely need the service,” he said.
The hemodialysis treatment will be operated by UMS staffs and offered for free to 18 patients sponsored by YKN based on specific requirements set by the foundation.
Also present at the ceremony were YKN Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Rafek Reshidullah, YKN Board of Trustees Member, Dato’ Sri Hj Abu Hassan Asaari Hj. Abdullah, and UMS registrar, No’man Datuk Hj. Ismail Ali. –SayangSabah
