TENOM: Some 50 UMS undergraduates joined the Siswatari Tour Programme held by the university’s Section 1 Folk Dance at Sabah Murut Cultural Centre (PKMS) for two days, recently.
The programme, led by its project director Ching Fui Ching, is also assisted by Section 1 Folk Dance trainer, Suhairin Abdul Kadir.
The closing ceremony for the event was officiated by Tenom UMNO Division Vice Chief, Juli Malik.
Juli said dance art is an activity that can cultivate love for heritage and cultures among students, as well as producing a well balanced individual in physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual aspects.
“Congratulation to UMS students who have successfully carried out this activity and reap its benefit, such as learning about Murut traditional dance.
“this programme is meaningful, where it is helping students in honing their hidden talents,” he said. -SayangSabah
