KOTA KINABALU: After one month of holiday, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) final year students are now preparing to face the challenge of a new semester which began last Monday.
Anita Predo, 25, from Telupid, said she is excited to finish her study even with the many challenges that come with academic and industrial trainings.
“I am worried in choosing where I should do my practical training; whether I am comfortable with the place I chose,” she said and hoping to be a permanent employee at her selected company after finishing her training.
Anita, a student under the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Heritage, said her holidays were spent by helping her mother in business.
“Besides from helping the family business, I also did some research to finish my academic training,” he told Sayang Sabah reporter, recently.
Louvis Ferrer Jefree, 23, from Tuaran, who studied Geology under the faculty of Science and Natural Resources, also express his excitement for the final year which he believes will give out more challenges than his sophomore year.
“For this semester, my biggest challenge is to spend more time at the research field and laboratory, as well as finishing my final year project report,” he said.
According to him, preparations are needed especially in understanding the basic concept of his studies, besides from grabbing the opportunities to improve himself.
Another student from the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Heritage, Matitah Juati from Kota Marudu, felt nervous for the new semester as it is difficult to finish her academic trainings and other assignments.
The 22-years old student studying History admitted that it is not easy to face the final semester, but happy because this is her final year before she enters the working world.
“I have made a proper planning for this semester besides from being on time and finishing my assignments early,” she said. – SayangSabah
