KOTA KINABALU – A food product development course will be held for student of Food Technology programme under the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) organised by the Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn Bhd.

This event is part of the smart partnership between UMS and Adabi announced by the university Vice-Chancellor Datuk Harun Abdullah in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ceremony held last night.

Harun said the tremendous experience that Adabi posses will benefit  students especially in the context of new development on food product from local resources and business plan to promote the product.

“Adabi has the capacity and ability in their scientific knowledge and technology. This will help the students to be more competitive and add value on entrepreneurship,” he said.

According to Harun the MoU was a continuous effort between both parties from the Wish Letter that has been sealed in 2012.

“We are very proud to have the opportunity to work with the pioneer of local food manufacturer – thirty years of experience to be exact.”

“The partnership has allowed us to produce two products sold in the Malaysian market with our very own UMS logo and tagline. This is a historical moment in the academic industry in Malaysia,” he added.

He also stated that the MoU covers cooperation in teaching and learning, industrial training programme for students and academic personnel, product research and development programme and consultations. – SayangSabah
