TAWAU: Traffic congestion issue here during peak hour needs to be solved for the benefit of traffic users in the district.
Tanjong Batu State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Hamisa Samat, said the traffic problem in Jalan Jambatan Putih, Jalan Semarak, and Jalan Apas needs to be settled.
“We often hear the public complaining about traffic congestion, as well as other traffic problems. We hope the responsible party will settle the issue,” she said in his statement, here today.
Shee explained that traffic congestion problem gets serious especially when it is raining, accidents occurred, or during school and office hour every day.
Hamisa who is also the state Assistant Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, wants the proposed Jalan Pintasan which connects Jalan Putih to Jalan Kinabutan with the length of 19KM to built immediately.
“I know that the planned by-pass road was proposed ten years ago, and it will help reduce traffic congestion.”
“Also for Jalan Kuhara and Jalan Utara which has been proposed for upgrade to two-way road. Jalan Coastal Highway which connects Jalan Persisiran Tawau to Jalan Apas Parit also were proposed to be upgraded,” she said.
According to her, only with the cooperation and immediate actions of departments such as Public Works Department can help to settle the issue. – SayangSabah
