KOTA KINABALU: Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) is planning to build a DBKK Tower at the former site of Sabah State Library.
Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir, said DBKK will take over the ownership of the old library building site.
“The construction date, its cost, and designs will be announced later,” he said when met by reporters after accompanying the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, to visit the planned site for DBKK Tower and Padang Merdeka, here today.
Also present were the State Government Secretary, Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman, Sabah Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Jainab Ahmad, Minister of Special Tasks, Datuk Teo Chee Kang, and the Deputy Minister in the Chief Minister Office, Datuk Edward Yong Oui Fah.
Previously, Abidin was giving his briefing for the Chief Minister on DBKK development for the state capital’s cleanliness and beautification.
Regarding on the Astaka Padang Merdeja, Abidin said, DBKK is also planning to build a fence in the area to prevent any irresponsible parties or individuals from stealing or damaging government properties. – SayangSabah
