Three men face death sentence for drugs

KENINGAU: Three men were arrested for possession of drugs, syabu (methamphetamine) weighed 51 gramme, when their rented house at Jalan Kg. Durok was raided by police squad from Narcotic Investigation Division of Keningau Police Headquarters, yesterday.

Police inspection in the room has discovered a transparent plastic packet with substance believed to be syabu, wrapped with white tissues and plastic bag, stored in a small black bag.

District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Douglas Taong, said all three suspects aged 22, 34, and 35 years old are arrested for further investigation under Section 39 B of Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1952 with the punishment of death by hanging if found guilty.

Raid on the house was done at 4.00pm on 22 February. All three suspects were each from Kg. Kauran, Patikang Laut, and Bingkor. They are also investigated under Section 15(1)(a) ADB 1952 for positive drugs of Metamphetamine and amphetamine type. They will be remanded until 1 March,” he told reporters in IPD operation room. – SayangSabah
