KENINGAU: Three families lose an estimated RM50,000 worth in damages when their house and properties in Kg. Dangulad were destroyed by fire, around 9.30am yesterday.
In the incident, the three families who live in one house were left with nothing as everything went up in flames.
According to the Chief of Keningau Fire and Rescue Department, Janil Jaya, the department received a call at 9.42am regarding of the incident from one of the villagers.
“As soon as we received the call, two firetrucks with 18 crews we rushed to the scene. The fire and rescue units managed to put out the fire on five nearby houses and the fire was extinguished completely at 10.42am,” he said, here today.
According to him, an estimated RM50,000 worth in damages were lost in the fire, whereby RM460,000 worth of properties were saved. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. – SayangSabah
