IPOH:A lorry driver who was detained in connection with the murder of a man whose head was decapitated in Slim River yesterday, is believed to suffer from mental problems.

Nevertheless, state criminal investigation department chief, SAC Goh Kok Liang said today, the police were investigating the case from other aspects, as well.

He said the police were not ruling out the possibility the victim, K. Ganesan, 50, a father of two, could have been involved in a fight with the suspect.

About 2.10am, the victim’s headless body was found dumped in a drain at Jalan Kampung Batu 4.

Following this, the police nabbed the 35-year-old suspect at his father’s house in Gerik yesterday evening.

From the house, the police team seized a machete and a knife, believed to be the murder weapons.

The police also found a plastic dog food bag inside which was a black plastic garbage bag containing the victim’s severed head.- BERNAMA
