KOTA MARUDU: Residents of St Theresa and De La Salle Hostel received Christmas goodies from the Palace Hotel recently.
The donation which was under the hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) programme was sent by a hotel team to St. Theresa in Kota Marudu.
The 62 children were from various backgrounds most of whom were orphans, the impoverished and children of single mothers.
Palace Hotel’s General Manager, Phang Joo See said the CSR activities were part of the Angel Tree program which provided opportunities for guests and hotel workers to add cheer to the recipients in conjunction with the Christmas celebrations by contributing one gift to each of them.
“This program is our hotel annual event and our third year in helping help those less fortunate, especially the children in the state,” said Stella Moluntang the hotel Communications Manager.
“Previously, we held this program at Don Bosco Childrens Home in Ranau dan Bondulu Children’s Home in Tambunan,” added Daisy Mak, the Assistant Manager Communications.
This year this CSR programme was witnessed by a regular hotel guests, a couple from Sweden, Bruce and Sylvia Nellson.
The Nelson’s had been a yearly guest of Palace Hotel because they were attracted by the warm friendliness Sabahans.
