KUANTAN: The mystery surrounding a new born baby which was found in front of a house in Felda Jengka 3, Maran here, yesterday, was unraveled when the woman who found her admitted to be the mother.
Maran district police chief DSP Mat Rizal Mat Radzi said the 20-year-old woman admitted to having giving birth to the baby and then placed her, with the umbilical cord still intact, on a stone table in front of her house.
He said the woman, a student at an institution of higher learning nearby, was staying in the land scheme with her family.
“The baby has been transferred to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh for further treatment and reported to be in good condition. The mother was also sent to the same hospital and reported to be in stable
condition,” he said when contacted here today.
Yesterday, the woman claimed she found the baby on a stone table in front of her house while she was drying out the clothes at about noon.
She then contacted her mother and they then sent the baby to Jengka 3 Polyclinic before lodging a police report.- BERNAMA
