KOTA KINABALU: Ten illegal immigrants (PATI) including a woman was sentenced to four months jail by the Sessions Court, today, for entering the country without proper travel documents.
Edmer Gutang, 25, Hashim Jalal, 23, Norshidah Laini, 23, Long-Long Parito, 26, Saifuddin Alani, 52, Roslan Hudiari, 24, Saikal Eskali, 22, Omar Maulah, 21, Zul Amil, 57, and Sudirman Pawa, 22, admitted guilty before Judge Azreena Aziz at the court today.
All of them were charged under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 which carries the punishment of up to five years jail, RM10,000 fine maximu, or both, and a possible caning up to six times.
The court also ordered for all the illegals to be referred to the Immigration Department for deportation process upon the completion of their sentence.
