KOTA KINABALU: The act of perseverance had paid off for Delton Senior when he won the Sarikei selection of the East Malaysia Talent Star 2015 recently after failing to make the cut in his first attempt in Miri.

Perhaps experience from the first ever exposure do play a part in his second foray as he managed to convince the judges with a heart-warming performance and showmanship to walk away with the champion trophy and earned a ticket to represent Sarikei at the grand semi-final to be held at Imago shopping mall on July 25.

Second placing went to Chanda Liew Kok Seng, 18, who sang an Iban song followed by an English number and showed her other talent by doing the Sarawak traditional ngajat dance and a delightful modern dance.

Sukma Games trainer/choreographer Lyde Anak Lait, 27, who is a wushu exponent took the third place as he wowed the crowd and the judges with his superb power-packed kung fu performance backed by 15 students who executed the kicking, punching, splitting and flinging a sword spectacularly.

Best costume award went to Lam Ching Yii for her gorgeous long flowing evening dress while most popular went to a male Iban singer Danny. Jeanette St. Chad showed her mettle by doing a very elegant ngajat performance to clinch the best showmanship title. Most creative award was won by the Pretty Girl’.-Sayangsabah
