TAIPING: The Taiping Zoo and Night Safari here have become the centre of attention and the preferred place for the public, including from outside Perak, to spend their Chinese New Year (CNY) holiday with their families.
A visitor from Penang, Siti Zaharat Kerya, 39, said she decided to visit the zoo today with her husband and two children.
“This is my second time in Taiping and I don’t want to miss visiting the zoo as I know it has its own uniqueness,” she told Bernama.
Another visitor from Melaka, Lim Ng Huat, 30, who returned to his wife’s hometown here for the CNY said it was a fun thing to do with families and relatives.
“I just brought my family and relatives here to enjoy watching the animal as I have not been here for more than a year,” he said while admitting that the zoo was more beautiful and attractive now, thanks to the upgrading work. The zoo is a habitat for 1,300 animals, including tigers, lions, giraffes and Orang Utan and it opens daily from 8.30 am to 6 pm with entrance fee of RM17 per adult and RM8.50 per child.
