KOTA KINABALU – Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Deputy President Datuk Dr. Yee Moh Chai called upon other Chinese associations to continue to support Chinese education in the state.
He pointed out that this is to ensure that Chinese schools continue to improve and contribute towards the nation’s goal of becoming a modern developed country by 2020.
“The policy of adopting Chinese schools such as Chung Hwa Likas Kindergarten has seen the school transforms from a humble beginning 70 years ago to a modern and highly respected quality early education provider.”
“We can see this from the enrollment of students that are not just from the Chinese community but also from non-Chinese community as well,” he said in his speech at the Chung Hwa Likas Kindergarten Chinese New Year celebration, here yesterday.
Yee who is also SEDA chairman has been supporting the Chinese community especially in education vividly.
This was noted by the deputy chairman of the school board, Chin Wei Yee, in his speech he praised Yee for his continuous support to the school and Chinese education.
He also thanked Yee for his assistance in helping the school as one of the successful applicants who received the solar PV feed-in (FiA) approval certificates under the community category.
Chin stated that the solar photo-voltaic programme under the feed-in tariff (FiT) mechanism implemented by SEDA and the photo-voltaic technologies helps the school in the electricity usage efficiency. – SayangSabah
