KOTA KINABALU: About 120 participants from various government agencies, private sectors, statutory bodies, and members of society have joined the Sunday Family Ride (SFR), which was held along the road at Teluk Likas Public Park, today.
The programme, planned for the first week of every month has been introduced in 1 November ago.
Sabah Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid, said SFR programme is to give the public the opportunity to do recreational activities and improve their physical wellbeing.
“We give the public a platform to cycle safely and at the same time practicing a healthy lifestyle by doing beneficial activities,” she said.
She also hopes that the programme will attract more young people and community members to join for the benefit of their health and family institutions.
Exhibitions, TLDM assault boat show, kayaking, lucky draw, colouring contest, karaoke, food stalls, and other activities were also held throughout the event.
Also present were the Naval Region 2 Commander, Rear Admiral Datuk Khairul Anuar Yahya, KPMHEP Deputy Permanent Secretary, Janel KL Chee, DBKK Chief Director, Datuk Yeo Boon Hai, Sabah Giat Mara Vice Director, Mohd Noh Nawawi, and Malaysian Sports and Culture Secretariat committee members. -SayangSabah
