KUALA LUMPUR: The wind gusts blowing over Klang Valley since this morning is a normal phenomenon and nothing to worry about, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
The department’s Climate and Weather deputy director-general Alui Bahari said when contacted that the weather had been forecasted to be fine for Klang Valley as well as for the rest of the country today.
Meanwhile, he said strong northeasterly winds occurring over the waters off Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, East Johor, Sarawak, Labuan and Sabah (Interior, West Coast and Kudat) are expected to persist till Monday (Feb 29).
Similar weather is expected to prevail over the waters off Samui, Tioman, Bunguran, Reef South, Kuching, Palawan and Labuan with waves reaching 3.5 metres.
Alui said the department had already issued a warning on strong winds and rough seas, while no unfavourable incident or accident has been reported so far, in regard to the condition.- BERNAMA
