KUALA LUMPUR: The Special Tactical Intelligence Narcotics Group (STING) arrested two foreign men and seized 10.2 kg syabu worth RM2 million in two raids in Kajang on Monday.
Narcotics CID director Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said one of the suspects had hidden the syabu in sports equipment called ‘Smart Balance Wheel.’
“The Nigerian was arrested while driving a car in Kajang. We found 10 ‘Smart Balance Wheel’ containing syabu in the car,” he told reporters at the Federal Police (Bukit Aman) headquarters here, today.
The syabu was believed sourced from China and meant for the local market. Mohd Mokhtar said interrogation of the Nigerian led to the arrest of a Guinean in a house in Taman Sepakat Indah, Cheras.
They were remanded seven days and investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
He said the duo had entered the country using student visas.
