Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Jainab Datuk Seri Panglima Ahmad Ayid officiated the event at Tang Dynasty Hotel, today.
During the conference, the Golden Standard (GS) recommendation would be elaborated during the sessions and its implementation a Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) preparation in order to help the natural disaster victim in Sabah.
According to her, strategies shared by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim. with her would be expounded on during the event which was being attended by 67 SSWD staff from various districts in the State.
“Our Prime Minister recognised the government effort in Kemaman, Terenganu, as “Gold Standard” caliber. It was well planned and organised,” she added.
Meanwhile, the director of Welfare Services Department director Ithong @ Etong Terang emphasized that there would be six GS strategic lesson taught during the group session.
“The first strategic thrusts will be on the improvement of children protection and welfare. The second will focus on integrating the physically challenge equality of rights and opportunities. Third, endeavor the senior citizen to be always active, proactive and positive. Fourth, endeavor the targeting group through social working order to decrease financial assistance. Fifth is empowering the community to socio-economic improvement. The last one would be based on increasing integration, creativity, innovation and professionalism in working culture,” Ithong stated.
Handling of natural disasters and emergencies would also be elaborated, he said. – By Saila Saidie/Sayangsabah.
