TAWAU: Residents in the state hope for the special committee to study Sabah rights and lead to more development and progress for the state.
“We need more funding to manage and provide various infrastructure facilities in Sabah,” said the state Deputy Minister of Resource Development and IT Technology, Datuk Hamisa Samat.
According to him, the committee that is to be paneled by Sabah-born locals should achieve a consensus that will bring huge benefit for the people in the state.
She explained that the committee must understand the need of the local communities especially in term of rural development.
She added that the setting up of the special committee it also deflect accusations from irresponsible quarters on the relations between Sabah and the federal government.
“Despite that the committee’s target is not yet met, the openness of the federal government is proven where the voice of Sabah people is given the attention that it need,” she said when met at a Raya Open House here. – SayangSabah
