KOTA KINABALU:-Women in Sabah have been urged to expand their self-esteem in various aspects of knowledge and skills to enable them to be involved in different fields.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said a high level of skill and knowledge would help build the self-esteem and competitiveness of women in various sectors.
He said the value added resume would highlight the capabilities of women to continue contributing to manpower and expertise and assist the government to improve the economy, social, education as well as welfare of the people.
“We want them to have a productive culture in their respective careers so that the state economic growth would be strong and sustainable,” he said when speaking at an oath-taking ceremony of Sabah Women’s Advisory Council (MPWS) here today.
Musa also called on women in Sabah to join the oil and gas sector which saw rapid growth in the state in line with oil and gas industry development in Kimanis and Sipitang.
While congratulating the elected members of MPWS, Musa hoped their appointment would inject a new spirit in implementing their responsibilities with greater dedication.
Earlier MPWS chairman, Datuk Mariati Robert led the list of elected council members in the oath-taking ceremony followed by her deputy Datuk Fung Yoong Sin Kin. – BERNAMA
