KOTA KINABALU: The Sino Kadazandusun (KDM) communities have their history in shaping the government policies, business, and progress in Sabah.
Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, said the government acknowledged the Sino KDM community contribution for the state development and will continue to support their programmes in the future.
“Barisan Nasional (BN) government has been working to maintain unity, harmony, and peace for all the races in the country,” he said in his speech for the Sino KDM Chinese New Year open house at the residence of Datuk Johnny Goh who is also the organization’s president, in Inanam, here today.
Musa said, the support for organizing festivals such as Chinese New Year, Kaamatan, Hari Raya, Christmas, and Deepavali is the evidence of state government commitment in preserving religious freedom.
In this regard he urged for Sino KDM community to continue its cooperation with the government to ensure progress in Sabah can be achieved and felt by all people.
“We are pleased with Datuk Johnny Goh’s role and commitment as the organization’s president; as a former people representative and leader, he has commendable spirit,” Musa added.
Meanwhile, Johnny said that Musa’s leadership has brought Sabah to a higher level of development which the people in the state need.
“He (Musa) has proven his ability as a leader with high caliber and respected. His success is reflected by BN victories in the last three general elections.
“We are indeed lucky because he (Musa) can administer the state and managing its finance efficiently,” Johnny said, adding that the state government has donated Rm100,000 for the organization when it was first established five years ago.
Previously, Musa announced an allocation of Rm100,000 for the organization and another Rm200,000 to improve the 1 kilometre road at Kolom Pison Pomotodon – Sinulihan, and a donation of RM100,000 for the repair of SK Pomotodon Inanam. – SayangSabah
