KOTA KINABALU: SIDMA College has set up Borneo Research Centre (BRC) unit under its Business Development Department this year to produce more young researchers.
BRC will be headed by Dr. Mohammed Halib, who is a former lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) and a researcher as well as a diplomat for Malaysia Agriculture Research Development Institute (MARDI).
Dr. Mohammed Halib has a 30 years experience in research profession and highly knowledgeable with rural community development profession.
SIDMA College Chairman, Prof. Dr. Morni Kombri, said they are also inviting other researchers from Sabah to share their ideologies and shape the core for researching in Borneo.
“BRC is also a platform to enrich knowledge and experiences in research. BRC will open the space and opportunity for college employees to go through with their research studies,” he said in his statement, here today.
According to him, the cooperation between research centres will help the state government in broadening the research sector for a more efficient development and progress for the state. – SayangSabah
