KUALA LUMPUR: Seven people who were detained by the police on Monday, following the discovery of vape liquid suspected to contain ganja as well as ganja ‘biscuits’ have been remanded for a week.
The suspects, including two couples were picked up in raids at Banting, Ampang and Kelana Jaya.
Narcotics Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said the two couples were detained at Banting and Ampang, while the rest comprising two men and a woman, were nabbed in Kelana Jaya, along with a machine to process ganja.
The seven under detention were investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carried the mandatory death penalty upon conviction, he said.
He said this in a press conference at the Bukit Aman Federal Police Headquarters here today.
