TENOM: The government must settle land issues faced by the members of the Malaysian Armed Forces Veteran Association (PVATM)Tenom ,
Tenom Member of Parliament, Datuk Raime Unggi said, there are 202,345 hectares of land belonging to the PVATM members in Kg Mangkalias that are yet to be issued to its members in the district.
“I will forward this mater to the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, to ensure the members (PVATM) plight are known by the responsible party,” he said in his speech for the Dialogue Session with the Director of Sabah Department of Veteran Affairs programme, here yeterday.
Raime said, land ownership to the PVATM members will enable them to diversify their economic activities especially in agriculture which can improve their future socioeconomic condition.
“We understand the contributions and struggles of the army veterans from this district had been huge in protecting the sovereignty of this country. We will help and care for their welfare as much as we can.”
“We want to ensure the PVATM members have land for their future benefits,” he added. – SayangSabah
