MEMBAKUT:With the setting up of 1Malaysia Internet Centre (PI1M) in Kg. Bambangan, here, it will not only benefit the youths by giving them access to multimedia, but also for the senior citizens in the community.
Most of the senior citizens from Kg. Bambangan did not miss their chances to study and explore the boundless world of internet provided by the government through Malaysia Communication and Multimedia Commission (SKMM).
For the former Imam of Pekan Membakut Mosque, Muhammad Anshalui, 72, age is not an issue for him to learn computer applications in the free class sessions at the PI1M centre.
“It may be too late for me compared to the younger generation, but I can access more information that I need especially about religious aspect by surfing the internet. I am grateful for the representative of my constituency for the initiative taken until PI1M is set up in this village,” he said when met at the PI1M Opening Ceremony by Membakut State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Ariffin Arif, here today.
Meanwhile, Ariffin who is also the Assistant Minister for the Chief Minister asks for SKMM to expand its facilities by setting up more PI1m in other areas in Membakut. – SayangSabah
