KOTA KINABALU: The sacrifices and deeds of security personnel will always be appreciated and translated in various forms to recognize their contributions in protecting the country.

In this regard, the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, stressed that the government and the people must cooperate in maintaining the nation’s security.

“Protecting peace and the nation’s sovereignty is everyone responsibility, including the security personnel, law enforcers, leaders, and the people in general,” he said.

Musa was giving his speech during the Kuih Raya Presentation for security personnel at Auditorium Tun Ahmad Raffae, Menara Tun Mustapha.

In the event, Musa was represented by the state Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Hajiji Noor. Also present were the State Government Secretary, Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman, Sabah Federal Secretary, Datuk Borhan Dolah, and the federal and state department chiefs.

Hajiji also presented kuih raya donated by various parties to the nine security agencies represented by their division leaders.

In his speech text, Musa said the government and the public will always remember the contributions of security personnel who have to leave their families in the name of duty to safeguard the nation’s borders during festive season.

“Our donation for them may not be as big as their deeds (for the country), but it proves that the security teams are always in our heart, remembered and respected by the government and its people,” he said.

Musa also express his appreciation for the armed forces, rescue agencies, and other parties involved with the humanitarian mission to aid the earthquake victims in Ranau, last month.

He commended the participation of all the state and federal government’ s agencies, GLCs, and NGOs for extending their help to the security personnel. – SayangSabah
