KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (SATTA) will promote Sabah in Indonesia to boost the arrival of tourists from our neighbouring country.
SATTA chairman Dato’ Seri Winston Liaw said the association has been invited to visit Indonesia by its Consul General in Kota Kinabalu Hendro Retno Wulan during a business luncheon at a hotel recently.
“Ms Hendro has invited us to visit Indonesia to promote their tourism and trade to Sabah and vice versa,” said Winston.
“Indonesia are very aggressive to promote their tourism market because it only took them one- day to get approval from their authorities when we requested them to organise a familiarisation trip for our local tourism players to meet our counterpart in Indonesia,” said Winston.
“The Indonesia Tourism Board in Jakarta has approved the trip and they have sent out the invitations to our inbound and outbound agents to join the trip,” he said adding that he had proposed to visit Surabaya, Solo City and Borobudur Temple, which is one of the world heritage.-Sayangsabah
