SEPANGGAR: Sabah Sailing Association (Saila) is seeking for the state government’s support in providing a suitable site for storing the organization’s training equipments.
Its President, Christopher Chin Soo Yin, said at the moment Saila does not have their own facility and it is not feasible for its 50 members during their training routines.
“Previously Saila has submitted its application to the local authority, DBKK, as well as to related government agencies, but there is yet any positive reply,” he told the media at the launching of the 5th Navy Regatta Open competition at Navy Yacht Club, Pengkalan TLDM.
“We only need a strategic place to store our training equipments, because all our training activities are carried out at sea,” he added.
The competition which will be held from 3 April to 5 April are participated by 60 contestants aged from five to fifteen years old from five different sailing clubs for the champion titles in the three categories contested in the competition. – SayangSabah
