TAWAU: The police arrested two security personnel aged 34 and 49 years old to help with the investigation on a break in case at the district Water department where a safety vault containing RM13,000 was taken away during an incident happened between 11.09am Sunday to 7.05am this morning.
District Police Chief, ACP Fadil Marsus, said initial investigation at the location discovered the window iron grill was broken by the criminal who then opened the sliding glass window of the department office.
He said the suspect entered three office room and broke the door of the payment counter before stealing the 18×12 inch safe.
‘The office was last used in Friday at 5.00pm with the security guards patrol the area from 7.00pm to 7.00am. Investigation on the CCTV circuit found no record was made from 30 January, from 7.00am to 1 February 8.00am,” he said, adding that it was caused by the malfunctioned battery support system.
Seven fingerprints have been retrieved from the glass window, door, and cabinet at the scene, he added.
The case is still being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code.-Sayangsabah
