SEMPORNA: Curfew enforcement in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZONE) needs to be extended as a method to secure the public safety and to prevent cross-border crimes in the state.
Senallang State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Nasir Sakaran, explains that the public and investors’ confidence in the district is evident through their daily routine in work and businesses that continue as usual, since from the curfew implementation was enforced.
“The confidence is clearly proven when every festivals in the district are celebrated by all communities without worry and fear, since the intrusion tragedy in Tanduo, two years ago,” he told reporters, here today.
Previously he attended the Chinese New Year Open House organized by Sabah United Chinese Chambers of Commerce President, Datuk Seri Gan Sau Wah, at his residence.
Nasir calls for the communities from various background in the district to keep visiting each others during festive season; as a catalyst for ethnic unity.
According to him, the multiracial communities in Sabah has been visiting each other during festive season since time immemorial, and it is one of the factor which brought unity for the various ethnicities in the state. – SayangSabah
