SANDAKAN: Safecam Partnership Programme has been successfully launched in the district in Wednesday as part of the effort to fight crimes.
The signing of MoU document for the programme has been held by 28 government and private agencies, which includes jewellery shops, supermarkets, hotel, and tourism premises.
During the press conference after the event, Sabah Management Headquarters Contingent (IPK) Division Chief, SAC Omar Haji Mammah, said currently eleven districts in Sabah has implemented the cooperation programme since its introduction in October 2012.
He said the cooperation ties will also ensure a more efficient information channelling and help reducing criminal activities.
PDRM as an enforcement agency, he said, welcomes the smart sharing initiative which is in line with the vision to make Sandakan a safer and more comfortable place to live.
