Sabahan songs promoted through CLAS competition

KOTA KINABALU – The singing competition of Anugerah Juara Carta Lagu Artis Sabah (CLAS) can promote Sabah songs among Sabahans.

Held for the eighth times, this event started from 1.30 pm and ended at about 4pm at KKMM Integrated Complex in Kepayan, Kota Kinabalu, today.

The categories included solo, duet and trio vocalists performing on the stage.

“Nasuha” song created by Nazri Sadali and Rodie Sofaz won the competition. The lyrics written by Nazri won best lyric award.

It was performed by Clarice John Matha and Amin Wali.

Meanwhile, for the best vocal award was given to Fanzi Ruji and Santiana Ramli who sang  “Sepanjang Usia” by Lucy Gawis. The best performance award was also given to them.

The judges for the competition were Director of Prentice Hall in Sabah Asmiah  Ajamain, Deputy Director. Centre for Co-Curriculum and Student Development Universiti  Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Khairil Anwar, Dean Kamarudin with Head of Kombo Radio Television  Malaysia ( RTM ) Sabah Raimond Sukudat @ Matlan.- By Saila Saidie/Sayangsabah
