KOTA KINABALU: Sabah maintained its top notch record for its state government financial management for 15 consecutive years with the highest number of agencies to receive the four-star recognition.
Sabah Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairperson, Datuk Haji Ahmad Bujang, said 24 ministries, departments, statutory bodies, and state agencies are recorded in 2014 to receive the four-star recognition.
“This makes Sabah as the best state in Malaysia for financial management,” he said during the press conference for Sabah PAC Meeting Bil. 4/2015 at the State Assembly Building, today.
Ahmad also said the meeting is to gather all agencies with problems with their financial audits and to find out their plans on solving the issue.
“Until 3 December 2015, 43 financial statements for agencies in 2014 have been validated. From the amount, 42 agencies received certificates without memo and one agency is yet to be audited,” he added.
Also present were the DUN Secretary, Datuk Bernard J Dalinting, Audit Chief Vice Director, Ramlee Kariah, Sabah Audit Director, Zaaba Zainuddin, Finance Ministry TSUT, Datuk Peter Thien Sin Min, State Treasurer, Chui Nget Ngo, and PAC member, Datuk Au Kam Wah. –SayangSabah
