Sabah Weightlifting Association (SWA) President Philip Gisan when contacted was delighted to see two of his boys do well at the Asian-level championship.
“This is indeed an excellent result for them and we are happy and proud of them,” he said referring to the duo who are currently with the national youth squad.
“We just hope this feat will help spur them to train and strive harder in training in order to achieve greater results in the near future.
“At the same time, we also hope that their success at this three-in-one championship could help motivate our young lifters in the State, especially our Sukma athletes,” he added.
On their Sukma preparations, Philip said that it is going smoothly.
“Training has been an ongoing thing for our athletes, and we just hope that they will reach the right peak during the Games in May,” he said.
