KOTA KINABALU- A conference on “Leading and Sustaining the Sabah Oil and Gas and Gas Agendas” was held at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort, inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Raymond Tan representing Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Hj. Aman, here, yesterday.
“The downstream sector of the oil and gas industry Sabah great potential to become a strategic regional hub for oil trading and supply.” he said in the inaugural speech.
According to him, the oil and gas industry should constantly keep up to date with trends and make wise and timely decisions in order to remind relevant.
He added, “We are on the right track in seeing the benefits of the sector contribute to the local economy, creation of jobs and spin-offs including new entrepreneur, and relevant socio-economic programmes.”
The conference was organized by Teroka Asia Sdn Bhd (TEROKA) with the support of Sabah Oil and Gas Development Corporation (SOGDC) and Ministry of Industrial Development (MID).
The main agenda of the conference is to share Sabah’s aspirations, plans and priorities with respect to the development of oil and gas industry in the state.-Syafathin M.Y./SayangSabah
