
KOTA KINABALU – Investment in Sabah is better than some States in Malaysia as it had attracted some five billion worth of investments both from overseas and within the country.
Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah, the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Industrial Development stated that overseas companies from Europe and the United States have formulated high technologies, oil and gas, factories, processing plants in Sabah.
“Business enterprises from the Peninsular such as Genting Berhad and Sime Darby had also invested a huge amount of money in this state.”
“We have been transparent in according information and details to the companies and that’s why they trusted us and invested tremendously in Sabah by building a lot of facilities.”
“These investments will provide employments to youth.”
Raymond emphasised that Sabah is now competing with Selangor and Johor on being the best state.
“After the last election in 2008, there’s a change of policies and direction in order to achieve our vision for 2020,” he added.- By Saila Saidie/Sayangsabah.
